Skiathos

Skiathos is one of the most beloved and beautiful Greek islands for many people. The island belongs to the Sporades archipelago; it is located east of the Pelion peninsula and north of the island of Evia. This island got a lot of publicity a few years ago when part of the blockbuster “Mama Mia” was filmed here.

“We visited it and thought it was very beautiful!”

Skiathos is a very green island with beautiful sandy beaches and a picturesque capital (Chora). This charming town has two harbors, a smaller harbor for the fishing boats and small excursion boats and the larger harbor to the north, where the large ferries moor.

It is very cozy here and you can enjoy the colorful terraces on the harbor. Right behind the harbors is a long shopping street with all kinds of tourist shops, pita-gyros tents, bars, gold shops and boutiques. It is sometimes very busy here, especially when a large ferry boat has just arrived, yet it remains a pleasant place to stay.
