Alonnisos

Alonissos is the most remote of the Northern Sporades island group and is perhaps a little less known compared to Skiathos and Skopelos. Yet, Alonissos is just as beautiful as Skiathos and Skopelos; many even think that Alonissos is even more beautiful than the other islands of this archipelago.

“Alonnisos is very green and covered with pine forests.”

Blessed with rugged natural landscapes, and surrounded by small islands scattered around the archipelagos, Alonnisos is an island ideal for those you want to unwind and enjoy leisure walks surrounded by pine forests, olive groves, and orchards. The island plays host to the National Marine Park of Northern Sporades, a refuge for rare seabirds, dolphins and the Mediterranean monk seal, monachus monachus.

It is a hilly island, the highest mountain Geladias is 456 meters high. Life on the island of Alonissos is quiet, even in high season; you will not encounter the large tourist crowd here. The secluded beaches, the beautiful fishing villages, and the quiet people: the island exudes a certain charm. It is quiet everywhere. The hospitable inhabitants mainly live from tourism or are fishermen and farmers.
