Mount Olympus

Mount Olympus, home of mythic 12 gods has a remarkable place in Greek mythology and it is also notable for its diverse plantation.

The highest peak, Mytikas rises to 2,917 meters. Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece and located on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, 80 km southwest Thessaloniki.

The starting point for climbing is the city of Litochoro. If you are a professional climber, you should not miss climbing the highest and the most majestic mountain of Greece. Organized shelters and various mountaineering and climbing routes are available to support your adventure. For the non-professionals also there are many easier hiking routes that you can have a day hike with easy to medium level of difficulty. Olympus is the first National Park in the country (founded in 1938), for its wonderful nature of rich flora (over 1700 species) and fauna (more than 30 species of mammals, 100 species of birds and 18 species of reptiles).
